A fishing tackle retailer had outgrown WooCommerce. With 15,000 products and complex B2B pricing, PrestaShop was a better fit.
Migration Strategy
I developed custom scripts to transfer products, customers, order history, and SEO metadata. The key was preserving URL structures with proper 301 redirects.
Technical Details
- Products exported via WP REST API
- Customer passwords rehashed for PrestaShop
- Order history imported for warranty lookups
- All meta titles and descriptions preserved
Results
Page load times dropped from 4.5s to under 1.5s. No loss in search rankings post-migration.
